Laundry Care
So your wee one can enjoy their Stevie Rose pieces for as long as possible:
Organic cotton muslin is a delicate and versatile fabric that requires special care to maintain its softness and durability. Following these simple care instructions will help ensure that they stay in excellent condition and provide comfort for years to come:
Washing
Machine or Hand Wash:Â You can either machine wash or hand wash organic cotton muslin items. Machine wash on a gentle cycle using cold water to prevent any shrinking or damage to the delicate fibres. If you choose to hand wash, use cool water and a mild detergent.
Avoid Bleach: Never use bleach or harsh chemicals when washing organic cotton muslin. These chemicals can weaken the fabric and cause discolouration.
Wash Separately: Wash organic cotton muslin items separately, especially during the first few washes, to avoid colour bleeding or transfer.
Drying
Air Dry:Â Please air dry your organic cotton muslin items. Hang them outside in the shade or indoors on a drying rack.
Ironing
Low Heat Setting: If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting on your iron. Too much heat can damage the fibres and cause the fabric to lose its softness.
Steam Ironing: You can also use a steamer to remove wrinkles from organic cotton muslin without direct contact with the iron.
Storing
Fold Neatly: When storing organic cotton muslin items, fold them neatly to minimize wrinkles and creases.
Avoid Hanging: Avoid hanging muslin items for extended periods, as the delicate fabric may stretch or lose its shape.
Spot Cleaning
Immediate Action: If you notice a stain on your organic cotton muslin, treat it immediately. Blot the stain gently with a clean cloth, using cold water and a mild detergent if needed. Avoid rubbing, as it can spread the stain or damage the fabric.
Avoiding Fabric Softeners
Natural Softness: Organic cotton muslin is naturally soft and breathable. Avoid using fabric softeners or dryer sheets, as they can leave a residue on the fabric and reduce its absorbency and softness.
Occasional Deep Cleaning
Mild Soak: For particularly stubborn stains or to refresh the fabric, you can give your organic cotton muslin items a mild soak in cool water with a small amount of gentle detergent. Rinse thoroughly and air dry afterward.
